Wintersemester 2021/22

KM-B-604-103 Digital City Science
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jörg Rainer Noennig
Th, 14. Oct. 2021 [12:45] - Th, 20. Jan. 2022 [16:45]

In the course, urban challenges are explored that address the digital transformation of our cities. How do digital technologies e.g. “Internet of Things”, “Geoinformation Systems”, “Building Information Models” or “Digital Twins” shape the future of urban environments? How can academic research and training give effective support in the face of accelerating urbanization worldwide? How do concepts for digital cities and for sustainable urbanism converge into a new paradigm?

A basis for the course is given by the various research projects by HCU research group Digital City Science. The bi-weekly course (4 LVS each session) introduces new tools that are developed and explored by the group, and sets them into a scientific and technological context. The course is structured around impulse lectures, group discussions, and experimental work sessions. As final work, students may either conceptualise a digital prototype tool or product, or write a scientific paper on one of the themes presented in the course.

Sommersemester 2021

KM-B-403-100 Working and Organisational Cultures
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jörg Rainer Noennig
Wed, 7. Apr. 2021 [08:15] - Wed, 14. Jul. 2021 [09:45]

The focus of this course is the analysis of the historical transformation of work and organization. We read studies in cultural analysis about cultures of work and organization and learn about their theoretical foundations.
On the basis of these theoretical findings the "alumni-study" of the program "culture of metropolis" (2017) serves as empirical material for the analysis the situation of graduates in cultural studies.
