Sophie Krone (sie/ihr) ist Soziologin und Stadtforscherin. Nach ihrem Master in Stadt- und Regionalentwicklung arbeitete sie zunächst am SFB 1265 „Re-Figuration von Räumen“ in Berlin. Aktuell ist sie wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Wissenschaftlichen Zentrum „Genealogie der Gegenwart“ an der Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg. Im Rahmen des Projektes „OpenCultures“ forscht sie für ihre Dissertation zur Wissensproduktion in transdisziplinären Projekten nachhaltiger Stadtentwicklung. Betreut wird ihre Arbeit von Prof. Dr. Hanna Göbel an der HafenCity Universität Hamburg. Ihre Forschungsschwerpunkte liegen in der Raum- und Architektursoziologie, feministischer Geographie und qualitativen Methoden, insbesondere Ethnographie und foto-gestütze Interviews. 

Das Dissertationsprojekt mit dem Titel „Stadt als Labor. Über die Produktion von Klimawissen in transdisziplinären Projekten nachhaltiger Stadtentwicklung“ beschäftigt sich mit der Frage, inwiefern die Logik von Real-Laboren spezifische Formen der Wissensproduktion und der räumlichen Verankerung von Klimawissen konstituiert. Mittels einer Ethnographie im Projekt OpenCultures werden spezifische Themen und Artefakte über ihre räumlichen Bezüge hinweg verfolgt, um so die Praktiken der Wissensproduktion zu analysieren. Real-Labore werden so als epistemische Räume verstanden, die kontinuierlich hergestellt werden und in denen Wissen situativ produziert wird.

Sophie Krone (she/her) is a sociologist and urban researcher. After completing her master's degree in urban and regional development, she began working at SFB 1265 ‘Re-Figuration of Spaces’ in Berlin. Currently, she is a research assistant at the Scientific Centre ‘Genealogy of the Present’ at Carl von Ossietzky University in Oldenburg. As part of the ‘OpenCultures’ project, she is conducting research for her dissertation on knowledge production in transdisciplinary projects of sustainable urban development. Her work is supervised by Prof. Dr. Hanna Göbel at HafenCity University Hamburg. Her research focuses on spatial and architectural sociology, feminist geography and qualitative methods, in particular ethnography and photo-assisted interviews. 

The dissertation project entitled ‘The City as a Laboratory: On the Production of Climate Knowledge in Transdisciplinary Projects of Sustainable Urban Development’ deals with the question of the logic of real laboratories constituting specific forms of knowledge production and the spatial anchoring of climate knowledge. Using ethnography in the OpenCultures project, specific subjects and artefacts are traced across their spatial contexts in order to analyse the practices of knowledge production. Real laboratories are thus understood as epistemic spaces that are continuously created and in which situated knowledge is produced.
