Project Description
NEU-Water addresses the urgent need for resilient urban water systems in the face of climate change by developing innovative nature-based solutions and processes for sustainable stormwater and greywater management and reuse in underserved urban areas of South Africa and Tanzania. The project brings together water utilities, researchers and urban planners to evaluate and develop nature-based decentralized, inclusive approaches to water-sensitive urban development. By combining technical innovation with community engagement and awareness-raising through a universal languages approach, NEU-Water aims to create scalable, context-sensitive solutions that strengthen water security and promote sustainable urban development.
