Dipl.-Ing. Katarina Bajc

Katarina was born in Ljubljana, Slovenia, where she studied Fine Arts Education at the University of Ljubljana from 2002 to 2007, followed by a Diploma degree in Landscape Architecture at the same university from 2005 to 2010. She was an exchange student at the Faculty of Architecture and Landscape Sciences at Leibniz University Hannover, Germany, from 2008 to 09. She additionally completed Master's in Landscape Architecture at the Technical University of Munich in 2013. Katarina has experience working in landscape architecture and urban planning offices in Germany and Portugal since 2010.

In 2015, she was a Teaching and Research Assistant at the Technical University of Munich, at the Chair for Landscape Architecture and Industrial Landscapes. She received a Fulbright scholarship for a year in 2015/16, which enabled her to conduct research in the field of ecological aesthetics in landscape architecture at the Berkeley College of Environmental Design at the University of California.

From 2016 to 2017, she held a teaching and research position at the Institute of Landscape Planning and Ecology at the University of Stuttgart. Since 2017, she has been a Teaching and Research Associate at the Department of Landscape Architecture and Landscape Planning at HafenCity University. In 2024, she completed her PhD with the title "Everything Flows, Everything Grows – The Perception and Design of Ecological Processes in Landscape Architecture."
