Aktuell vermehrt betrügerische Phishing-Mails im Umlauf
Liebe Studierende,
aktuell wird an verschiedenen Hochschulen über betrügerische Payment Scam-E-Mails berichtet, die sich gezielt an Studierende richten. In diesen E-Mails werden Zahlungsaufforderungen, beispielsweise zum Semesterbeitrag, versendet. Die Absender geben sich dabei häufig als offizielle Stellen der Hochschule aus, um Vertrauen zu erwecken.
Bitte beachten Sie daher folgende Hinweise, um sich vor Betrug zu schützen:
- Prüfen Sie den Absender der E-Mail kritisch. Achten Sie insbesondere auf ungewöhnliche oder abweichende Absenderadressen.
- Vergleichen Sie die angegebenen Zahlungsinformationen (IBAN, Empfänger etc.) sorgfältig mit den Ihnen bekannten offiziellen Daten der Hochschule.
- Überprüfen Sie, ob entsprechende Mitteilungen oder Gebührenbescheide auch in Ihrem ahoi-Konto hinterlegt sind.
Offizielle Gebührenbescheide und Zahlungsaufforderungen werden ausschließlich über das ahoi-Konto bereitgestellt.
Sollten Sie Zweifel an der Echtheit einer E-Mail haben, nehmen Sie keine Zahlung vor und leiten Sie die Nachricht nicht weiter. Wenden Sie sich stattdessen an das OS-Ticketsystem https://cn-ticket.hcu-hamburg.de/open.php/ um die Echtheit zu überprüfen.

Warnung vor CEO Fraud
Liebe Kolleginnen und Kollegen,
derzeit sind viele HCU-Angehörige von einer CEO-Fraud-Welle betroffen. In einer E-Mail werden HCU-Angehörige vorgeblich von einer Professorin oder einem Professor der HCU um Kontaktierung gebeten. Im Verlauf einer typischen CEO-Fraud-Konversation fordern die Scammer ein Opfer oft zum Kauf von iTunes-Gutscheinen oder ähnlichem auf.
Bitte antworten Sie nicht auf diese E-Mail! Sollten Sie zum Opfer geworden sein, so bin ich für eine Meldung dankbar. Ihr Anliegen wird vertrauliche behandelt.

Phishing warning November 07, 2025.
specific phishing mails "conference" (05.11.2025)
There are phishing mails going around from various adresses regarding a conference that you can/should participate in. If one engages in further contact the senders likely want you to reveal your private data, including credit card data.
Do not answer these mails. If you're actually taking part in a conference only use the official and established ways of communicating. If you have already revealed private information please follow the steps at en/informationssicherheit/sos-it-sicherheitsvorfall.
IT-Security Awareness Days (03.11. bis 14.11.)
Starting at 03.11.2025 TU Braunschweig is organising the tenth IT-Security Awareness Days. You can attend several presentations all about information security. Some lectures are in German language and some in English.

Caution: CEO Fraud
Members of HCU are currently affected by CEO fraud and are receiving the email shown below. In an email originating from the domain gmail.com, HCU members are allegedly contacted by the director of the City Science Lab. In the course of a typical CEO fraud conversation, scammers often ask the victim to make a bank transfer or purchase vouchers, such as for the Google Play Store. Please do not respond to this email!
We launched the new version of the HCU information security website!
Our new site is visually more appealing, features an improved navigation and way more information all about information security at HCU.
As usual the content is available in both German and English. While all website texts are already translated you may find that some documents are only available in German or English, their translations will follow over the next few months.

You got a phishing mail that isn’t listed below?
Several phishing attacks reach the HCU, some targeted and some more widespread. If a specific phishing mail is occurring more often, we can warn about it on our website and via the mailing list.
If you receive a phishing e-mail, you can send it to us and we’ll take the appropriate next steps. Just forwarding the mail is not sufficient since some important details go missing this way. Below this text you can find a PDF where the safe way to send phishing mails is described in detail.
