Prof. Dr.-Ing. Sabine Hansmann
Sabine Hansmann has been a Substitute Professor for the department Architecture, Space and Society at the HafenCity University since October 2021. From mid-2019 to September 2021, she was a research assistant (post-doc) at the Institute for History and Theory of Architecture and the City at the University of Braunschweig. In 2019, she received her PhD from the Technische Universität Berlin with a thesis on the potential of actor-network theory for the concept of space in architecture. As a research associate at the Laboratory for Integrative Architecture at TU Berlin and the Cluster of Excellence "Image Knowledge Gestaltung" at Humboldt University Berlin, she conducted research on laboratory buildings and mobile spaces in various interdisciplinary research groups between 2013-2018 and realized the kinetic installation "Raummaschine" exhibited at Martin-Gropius-Bau Berlin in 2016. Her research focuses on architectural theory and the sociology of architecture, the theory of space, actor-network theory, as well as materiality and sustainability in everyday life.
