Your personal HCU user ID (e.g. hxy123) serves as central authentication for all services at HafenCity University. The data associated with your HCU user ID is highly sensitive and must be treated with the utmost care. It must not be shared under any circumstances to avoid identity misuse by third parties.

Your HCU user ID and password are used to log into systems such as Ahoi, Webmail, or Stud.IP. In addition, you can use them to log in to all computers (labs & workstations) and networks managed by the IT department, giving you access to your personal data or, if applicable, shared team drives.

The HCU password is the password associated with your HCU user ID (e.g. hxy123). You can change it here or set a new password if you have received an initial password. If you no longer remember your current password, please visit the Infothek/Library in person (don’t forget a valid photo ID).

IMPORTANT:

If your user ID has expired and you can no longer log in, you can still change your password via this page and thus reactivate your account.

The password must be at least 10 characters long and include at least three of the following character classes:

Not allowed: umlauts or similar characters, e.g. ä, ö, ü, ß, é

The following special rules also apply:

• Your password must not contain any character sequence that is identical to your username or your first or last name.
• Your password must also not contain any sequence that includes parts of your username or your first or last name. This applies if there is a match of more than three consecutive characters.

If you do not remember your previous password or the password change was unsuccessful, please contact the Infothek.
