Guest auditor and cross-registered students

Guest auditor

Within available capacities, guest auditors are admitted to individual courses for the duration of a semester for the intended purpose of professional development or further education without completing assignments or exam performances and without aiming for a degree through examination.

Admission as guest auditor

The application for admission as guest auditor for the summer semester can be submitted from 1st March until 1st April. The application period for the winter semester starts on 15th September and ends on 30th October. The application has to be submitted in writing to the Student Service Center and will be valid for one semester. For attending courses, a fee of 124 EUR will be charged and needs to be paid already when applying for admission as guest auditor.

Required documents

•    Completed and signed Application for admission as guest auditor

•    The lecturer’s written consent

•    Proof of payment of the fee for course attendance

•    Copy of ID card (both sides) or residence registration ('Meldebestätigung')

Course attendance

Guest auditors can apply for admission to all courses offered. The admission to courses requires the written consent of the respective lecturer. The relevant confirmation sheet is part of the application form and without the lecturer’s consent by the time of application, the admission as guest auditor will be rejected.

All offered courses can be found in the course catalogue.

Cross-registered students

Within the scope of their actual studies, cross-registered students attend individual courses at the HCU. Except for intermediate and final examinations, they are permitted to complete assignments and exam performances for every course they are admitted to.

Admission as cross-registered student

The application for admission as cross-registered student for the summer semester can be submitted from 1st March until 1st April. The application period for the winter semester starts on 15th September and ends on 30th October. The application has to be submitted in writing to the Infothek and will be valid for one semester. As cross-registered student, you can only be granted a maximum of four semesters. An admission to the first semester of an admission restricted study programme is not possible. In case of a granted application for admission, an account as cross-registered student will be created in the ahoi portal. The registration in ahoi will be realised automatically after the registration change period for seminars.

You are obliged to access this account regularly. Notifications and letters are considered to have been announced when they are placed in the cross-registered student account. At the end of the registration change period for seminars, you can also see which courses and exams you have been admitted to. If, for reasons of capacity, you are not admitted to individual courses, you will not be able to take creditable examinations there either.

Required documents

• Completed and signed Application for admission as cross-registered student with completed list of courses

• Copy of ID card (both sides) or residence registration ('Meldebestätigung')
