The HafenCity Universität (HCU) Hamburg charges a semester contribution and other administrative fees.

The HCU semester contribution consists of five individual contributions. The contributions and fees are charged by the HCU student union (‘Studierendenschaft’) and the non-profit organisation for student affairs (‘Studierendenwerk’) as well as by the university itself. Its calculation is based on the current contribution order of the HCU Studierendenschaft, article 6a paragraph 1 of the Higher Education Act Hamburg (HmbHG) and the Studierendenwerk’s contribution order.

Students of the HCU are required to pay an administrative contribution in accordance with the current version of the HCU fee statutes for administrative fees and user fees.

When the HCU asks you to pay an administrative contribution you will receive a contribution notification that lists the reasons for the payment and a payment deadline. Not making the payment or not making the payment in time can result in de-registration.
