For the publication of your research results, the publication server repOS of HCU is available. The publication server, often referred to as repository, is suitable both for first publications of dissertations or other scientific publications of HCU and for publications that have already been published elsewhere (secondary publication).
For a first publication on our publication server repOS, please read the tips for publishing. If you wish to have a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) for your publication in addition to the URN as a permanently citable internet address, please notify us in advance by email to digitaledienste(at)hcu-hamburg.de.
Send the signed publication contract to the library. Then upload your publication with the corresponding metadata to repOS. By doing so, you transfer the simple right of use to the library to make your publication available on repOS. The library checks the metadata for correctness, activates the document and provides you with the citable and shareable link to your publication.
When concluding a publishing contract, we recommend that authors do not transfer exclusive rights of use to the publisher or include an addendum in the contract that allows the simple right of use for online use on a publication server (repository).
What rights of use have been agreed on with the publisher? Does your contract include the right to parallel provision in a repository? If these legal questions have been clarified, parallel publication on the HCU publication server is possible.
