Freely available e-resources during Corona

Due to the temporary closure of many libraries, some publishers and providers also support digital teaching by providing their electronic services temporarily free of charge. Many services have now expired, but some providers continue to make their services available free of charge. Some services are only available via the HCU network. Further information on access from outside the HCU can be found here.

In the following we have compiled an overview of all still valid services for you:

Brill
has made its e-books on topics such as distance learning and crisis research freely available.

EDP Sciences
makes the 2018-2020 volumes of all e-journals available free of charge until 31.08.2020.

Elsevier
allows access to all ScienceDirect Textbooks until 31.08.2020.

Energie.de
has activated the e-journals ew, netzpraxis, et and EUROHEAT&POWER from the year 2019 until 31.08.2020.

Via Project Muse
numerous university publishers make their publications available free of charge.

The University of Michigan Press
allows access to its e-book collection until 31.08.2020. All e-books can be read online, but not downloaded.

Our overview is updated regularly. It only contains publishing services that HCU members actually have access to and that we consider interesting for the professional profile of the HCU. You can find a more detailed overview in dbis (Database Information System). This also contains links to publishing house offers with free information on Covid-19.
