The Chair of Urban Planning and Regional Development is one of the main promoters of an innovative and internationally oriented research program. Its focus lies on generating knowledge in the fields of sustainable urban and regional planning and development, metropolitan, urban and regional governance as well as planning cultures. By addressing main challenges facing urban and regional development - such as sustainable development, climate change, competitiveness, cohesion, integration and demographic change - priority is given to research, interdisciplinary studies and innovative solutions.
